Today, the world faces unprecedented, new methods and aspects of crime that are threatening the security of national and international communities and differ in terms of the ways in which they are executed, the rapidity with which they can be transferred, and the technologies which are applied to them. Since the influence of local police bodies stops at the borders of their countries, concerted efforts and enhanced, mutual cooperation among all law-enforcement agencies of different competencies must therefore be made to combat and nip crimes in the bud, through the adoption and application of preventive measures, and through the unification of international efforts to dismantle and weaken criminal organizations and arrest their members.
